All plans offered in the individual and small group market must offer qualified coverage which meets the essential benefits that are an intrinsic component of health care reform. Open Enrollment Begins October 1 for Covered California*
Enrollment begins October 1st for Covered California, which is the marketplace or exchange where legal residents of California can purchase health insurance. Coverage begins January 1, 2014, and open enrollment extends through March 31, 2014. Income eligible individuals that qualify for federal premium assistance must purchase coverage through Covered California. Small business owners who qualify for tax premium subsidies must obtain their group coverage through SHOP. Well known insurance companies participate in Covered California.
